What to wear:

A wedding in Gettysburg requires full and accurate Civil War reenactor apparel. See examples below. No exceptions. Historical inaccuracies will be penalized with extended chicken dance and/or electric slide duty.
just kidding
This has been a popular question in recent days. If the weather is nice the wedding will be on a lawn by the pond, and the cocktail reception will be on a lawn by the barn. Dinner and dancing will be in the barn, on a wooden plank floor. If it rains everything will be inside the barn. While we don't want to get into a political discussion of prescribed gender roles in our society, we suggest women wear a nice casually elegant dress. Heels are fine, but be prepared for lawn/barn floor negotiation. Perhaps bring a pair of flats just in case. Men, we suggest a suit or jacket and probably a tie but I don't think that's required. And you should wear pants. Except for Crazy Legs. Regardless of what gender you are, and provided you have one or more feet, bring dancing shoes.
Temperatures in Gettysburg in early October range from the high 70s during the day to the low 40s at night.
If you suffer from allergies we suggest bringing some medication just in case as this will be out in the country.
Heather will be wearing a white dress. Jake will be wearing a crazy, mad sexy suit.
